Family Guy *Can* Be Positive for Kids

After being chastised by my dad and a few random 12 year old boys in elevators, a few weeks ago Joe & I made the responsible parenting decision to stop allowing the boys to watch Family Guy. It's been a tough adjustment as we were enjoying some nice - albeit questionable - family time watching it together. Thankfully, the adults can still catch it on Cartoon Network after the boys go to sleep.

Anyway, the point of this post is that this week I learned first-hand that for all the negatives (so what if Colin learned the word "sexy"??) - at least one good thing came from the boys watching the show.

On Monday, Seamus didn't want to eat his dinner. After listening to Shea and I battle over this difference of opinion, Aidan suddently said, "Oh, I know! I'll feed him like Lois feeds Stewie!" Apparantly, Lois did the whole airplane, train, etc. feeding thing on one episode...I don't remember that but Aidan and Colin told me all about it...while Aidan got Shea to eat all of his chicken and broccoli.

Oh, and by the way...Seamus liked that he had a character named for him on the show. Don't they look alike?!

Caroline is an ardent fan of Family Guy, thanks to James. I know exactly the episode Aidan was thinking of. Very smart of him!

Who's visiting?
