Typical Conversation with Colin

This just happened minutes ago.

Colin: Did I just hear thunder? Is it thundering?
Me: Yes. But the weather was just on TV, they said it’s more likely to be rainy and not too much thunder right around here.
Colin: Well, can it just thunder and no lightning?
Me: Yes, but that’s not too likely.
Colin: Well, will it flood? We have flood drains you know. But you know, floods take cars away.
Me: Ah, yeah that could happen – but that doesn’t happen too much around here.
Colin: But I saw it on the news! Isn’t Windham on the news?
Me: No Colin – those places are usually far away. Maybe you shouldn’t watch the news so much.
Colin: But how would I know what is going on?
Me: Uh, you’re 5.
Colin: Someday, can you give me a green Red Sox shirt? They don’t have white lines.
Me: Ok (not even remotely phased by this complete non sequitor)Colin: I want to be Jacoby Ellsbury.

He’s still babbling about that. He just changed his mind to wanting to be JD Drew, after he thought about being Mike Lowell....
