Martha Stewart Radio on Sirius, to be exact, but that's not (quite) the point of this point. (But if you don't have satellite radio, you really, really should...one of my favorite-ist inventions ever. E-V-E-R.)
But my point is this...my kids don't listen to too much music, far as I know. Oh, but clearly I'm missing something.
Today, we're on route to soccer (in the rain) today in the Jetta (which Joe's in 95% of the time now - usually listening to country or Fox News) and I'm talking to Cyndy, with the radio down low. All of of sudden, there are pleas from the backseat to "turn it up!!" I glance down at the tuner (another awesome Sirius feature - song/artist displayed at all times) and what do by 5 & 7 year old boys want to hear? "I Kissed A Girl." Should you need a refresher the song cab be heard here...and to be uber clear, the boys have NOT seen the video.
Seems both better and worse for them to be singing that than the original artist, no? I was stunned to hear that even with the volume low, they knew many of the words...made clear by the question "can we get some cherry chapstick too, mom?" I do believe they mean from the tube. And I'm pretty sure that's how they want to get it, since these boys and the ones that sleptover my house last night (more on that later) averted their eyes and screamed like, well, girls, when Princess Leia and Luke or someone kissed on the Star Wars Lego Wii game.
